I think I finally understand what the deal is with this auto bailout.
I still think it stinks, but I can at least make some sense out of it now- at least more than I could before.
Recently, when Congress started talking about a $25 billion bailout for the Big 3 automakers, I felt like I had [...]

I am very excited about the upcoming inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama.
I believe in his message of change… but staunch supporter that I may be, I also believe in asking questions, and holding people- even president elects that I love- accountable to the promises they have made.
It is based on that premise that I [...]

I love Sarah Palin.
She’s so much fun.
Seriously.
First, she pardons a turkey, calling herself a friend to all creatures…
Uh…
Ok moose hunter.
Next, she gives her post-pardon interview in plain view of her “friends” (turkeys) being slaughtered.
Beautiful.

What the hell is up with Casey Anthony?
For people who haven’t been following the story, Casey Anthony is the young mother of 3 year old Caylee Anthony.
Caylee’s been missing since June.
Her mother didn’t report her daughter’s disappearance for at least a month… and even then, only did so under durress from her family.
Ugh.
Casey Anthony is [...]

I am having a tough time wrapping my brain around this news of an 8 year old boy committing double homicide.
I just don’t know if I believe what I’m hearing…
According to news sources, this 8 year old kid inexplicably- but purposely- shot and killed his father, and his father’s roommate.
Huh?
Perhaps I’m naive… or overly optimistic… [...]

I love a good reminder of my childhood.
Last night, while in Wal-Mart with my black-women-In-training, I happened across the $9 movie rack.
Now you know as well as I do that this rack typically consists of nothing that anyone really wants to watch… thus the reason the movies only cost $9.
Last night was different.
I saw 2 movies [...]

I’m feeling a little discriminated against.
I have learned that the pastor of a megachurch in Dallas, TX is issuing a 7-day sex challenge to his married congregants.
Now I don’t typically follow the goings on of megachurches, but this caught my eye.
It seems that Reverand Ed Young, in his attempt to strengthen the bond of married [...]

I wasn’t sure if I should really touch this subject or not…
… But seeing as I’ve never been one to keep my mouth shut, here I am- and I intend to touch the hell out of this thing.
Proposition 8, in California, has passed.
That’s old news of course, but I’m just now getting around to talking about it, so let’s [...]

This crap is getting downright old.
Another bailout?
Whew.
This time it’s the automobile industry.
Rumor has it that the dems, led by Nancy Pelosi (House Speaker), are pushing for $25 billion in taxpayer funds to help the 3 biggest- and most troubled- companies within the auto industry.
The bill is expected to pass next week during a lame-duck session.
Funding will (hopefully) come [...]

My oldest daughter, The Diva, has been chosen “Student of the Week” at school.
She got her picture taken, and was interviewed for the school paper.
The picture, of course, was flawless- no diva would be caught dead with their pic in the school paper unless it was absolute perfection.
The interview was great-
